Join us ‘for the LOVE of CARS’ at our meet-and-greet in the heart of the Garden Route! Our Cars@Coffee events are open to everyone, and offer a display of collectible, classic and performance cars. You can bring your own special vehicle to put on display, or just come along to look at the cars and to meet and greet owners and other enthusiasts. Coffee and refreshments available at the various lovely cafes and restaurants around the common!

We depart from Hartenbos station where our gleaming steam locomotive with her vintage coaches awaits you. Our destination is the picturesque Great Brak River station where our passengers can disembark for 1 hour while the thirsty beast receives a much-needed water supply in her tender by the crew. Passengers can enjoy a short stroll to the lagoon or enjoy a coffee/cooldrink or snack at the adjacent restaurant and stalls located on the lawns. The train driver’s whistle signals his readiness for our departure time and our journey back to Hartenbos station, where we will disembark.

Rolls-Royce and the equally exalted upper-crust British marque, Bentley, will be showcased as the headline act in a special commemoration for British cars. Up to 1,000 cars are being catered for, and, as usual, a huge variety of vintage vehicles and classics with origins from Europe, America and Japan will be on display, as well as classic and vintage motorcycles, tractors, trucks, modern supercars, and more regular modern cars. This year the organisers are planning to have twice as many classic and vintage motorcycles as there were last year.

2024 information - The Knysna Speed Festival’s vision is to host and organise the premier motorsport event in the country that is recognised as a premier event internationally. Our goal is to attract an ever-increasing number of visitors to the beautiful town of Knysna to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere of entertainment, motorsport, motoring activities and the natural beauty of the region. The festival not only boosts economic activity in the town, but also benefits charities in the area.

2024 information - With its delectable oysters, vibrant atmosphere, and thrilling sporting events, this year’s festival promises plenty of excitement and a full programme for attendees. The full festival lineup boasts a plethora of events designed to cater to diverse interests and ages. From live music performances and cooking competitions to wine festivals and arts and crafts markets, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, we are working on bringing the oyster back to centre stage and ensuring that this popular mollusc will be readily available at venues throughout the Knysna area.

The theme of the festival is CONNECT IN PLETT with an eye towards art in nature and collaborative installations, visitors are encouraged to connect: with nature, with artists, with themselves and with the elements while enjoying legendary hospitality and restaurants, outdoor adventures and beautiful beaches. A uniquely “Plett” arts experience like no other: the festival is set to entertain and delight from beginning to end.
