The KnysnaX Trail Run is a 1 day trail running event that takes place in the heart of the Garden Route, Knysna. Each event forms part of the KnysnaX Trail Series which consist of 4 events over 365 days. These events will take place during each season. Trail Running at its best. Your race will officially start as you check in at Belvedere and continue all the way through spectacular fynbos and run along the old Knysna Railway. Fun and scenic, the 9km run will follow parts of the railway and Buffalo Trail. The routes include spectacular bridge crossings and breathtaking scenery all along the Knysna Railway. A trail run you do not want to miss.

This event is about the routes and experiencing the night not the nightlife. Get to experience the true magic of running at night on two well-marked routes. Running at night opens a whole new world to runners. One gets into the zone of your headlight, with limited visibility your other senses sharpen and bring you back closer to nature than ever. There will be two routes of approximately 5,5 km and 12 km. Once again the longer run will have something new to keep it interesting so something new on what is becoming a tried and tested route.

The journey from PE to PLETT must be one of the most diverse mountain bike rides in Southern Africa. This 4-stage and 3-night linear journey provides 300 riders each year the privilege to traverse mountain bike heaven. From the single tracks of 3 Rivers Trails, forests of MTO and the views from Sanparks Otter Trail, this is one journey not to miss out on. We are not targeting the Racing Snakes but more the keen mountain biker who wants a great ride and to be in the village by 1pm. All the time looking forward to an afternoon of chilling and bonding.

(7th) Knysna Heads Marathon

This fast and flat marathon is a great qualifier for Two Oceans and Comrades. The scenic route takes you out along the lagoon to Leisure Isle, and then back out to the Phantom Pass Road, and finishes at Thesen Island. Many a PB has been done on this route. There are options for a 42.2km full marathon or the 21.1km half-marathon.

In conjunction with the MTO Trails Ultra we will run a circular 23 +/- km loop from Covie. The route will include The Covie Trails, The Tsitsikamma Hiking Trail as well as MTO Plantations. Once again we have decided to include a 12/10 km and 5km fun run for those who want to be part of the whole event but haven’t quite got fit enough for the Ultra or the Lite.

The term "Tent Pegging" is related to the idea that the cavaliers attack enemy camps on their galloping horses, using spears or swords to uproot tent pegs which cause tents to collapse. Today Tent Pegging as a sport includes a similar imitation of the discipline in which a mounted equestrian rides the horse at the gallop gate, using a sword or lance to pick up and carry away a small ground target. The ground target is a symbolic tent peg.

The Lions Karoo to Coast route covers 100 kilometres, from Uniondale to Knysna, taking on the scenic Prince Alfred Pass and the beautiful indigenous forest roads through Kom se Pad. In total the course includes 1 560 metres of climbing. This makes it a significant test. More importantly though, it is the type of race that participants do again and again. Though the start is not particularly remote and the finish is in the heart of the Garden Route, the course itself is relatively remote. The race thus provides an excellent opportunity to ride a famous pass which one would otherwise never explore and celebrate in the heritage of the region.

Each event forms part of the KnysnaX Trail Series which consist of 4 events over 365 days. These events will take place during each season. Trail Running at its best. The new out and back fun, flat, fast and scenic 6km route will cross the historic Choo-Tjoe bridge over the Goukamma river twice and takes you past a historic railway station. The 19/12km routes include spectacular bridge crossings and breathtaking scenery along the Knysna historic Railway and the 19km heads across the lagoon, past Belvidere into the Western Heads Conservancy where the routes join.
