(10th) 7 Passes MTB
Wilderness to The Farm, KnynsaSaturday 3rd January 2026
This route offers the perfect opportunity for gravel-bikers to take on the 29ers. E-bikers are also welcome on this non-technical route. 7Passes MTB also offers a shorter route for younger or not so fit riders who still want to be part of the action! Leeuwenbosch Dairies will once again support the 38km event which starts from the Highlands Cash Store in the humble little village of Karatara.
(13th) Carné's Full Moon Beach Run
NSRI Station, WildernessSaturday 3rd January 2026
Tick this one off your bucket list, and run on what’s been described as the best stretch of beach in the country! Starting at Swartvlei Beach, the 21km runners will pass Gericke’s Point, the rocky landmark resembling a lion’s head. Thereafter enjoy kilometers of mixed sand and rock shelves with the warm Benguela current on your left and the fossilised sandstone dunes towering above you on your right. Passing Kleinkranz village (the 7km Runners starting point) and a mid-run refreshment stop, runners then reach Flat Rock and a few more kilometers of sand running to the finish at Wilderness NSRI.

Red Men Trail Run is an annual 5km, 12km or 18km trail run in the Outeniqua Mountains with start and finish at Herold Wines. Herold Wines will provide picnic lunches - which can be ordered with your entry. Bring the family, and enjoy a fantastic run in the mountains, followed by a picnic under the trees.

2025 information - A wheelchair race exclusively for disabled athletes! And - every year it is getting bigger and better! The number of entries has increased dramatically, with disabled athletes and other persons in wheelchairs flocking to this annual event. The Challenge is unique as being the first and only event exclusively for the disabled in South Africa. Athletes in racing wheelchairs, adapted bicycles, hand cycles, basketball chairs and ordinary wheelchairs have made this into the premier sporting event for the disabled on the South African sporting calendar. It undoubtedly has the potential to develop into one of the best events of its kind in the world!

2024 information - Classic Car Friday, catering exclusively for historic, classic and vintage cars, kicks off on Thursday at the Fan Fest where cars will be scrutineered and on public display until it closed with the very popular and entertaining parade in Waterfront Drive. The glorious cars from pre-war to 1995 will grace the hill on Friday while drivers, friends and spectators are encouraged to attend in period dress.

2024 information - The 2024 running of the Simola Hillclimb will be the fourteenth edition of what has become South Africa’s premier motorsport lifestyle event with a growing international footprint. Saturday and Sunday’s action has been dubbed the King of the Hill Shootout and is where the country’s fastest machinery will duel it out on the Simola hill. Fans will witness some of the country’s meanest, sleekest, prettiest and most spectacular cars taking to the track during the weekend.

2025 information - Lions Karoo to Coast is a 100km solo mountain bike challenge starting in Uniondale and crossing the Prince Alfred’s Pass in to Knysna. The route is scenic, challenging and riders are encouraged to train sufficiently for this event in order to maximise the enjoyment of the experience. The Lions Karoo to Coast welcomes MTB, Gravel and E-Bikes! The Lions Karoo to Coast Mountain Bike Race has been selected as an Official Premier Seeding Event of the 2025 Cape Town Cycle Tour.

2024 information - We have a goal - to turn the Africa Skills George’s TENS into the biggest social sport and lifestyle event in South Africa! Kicking off in 2019 as a rugby only festival, the event has evolved to include Men’s and Women’s Rugby, Golf, Mixed and Women’s’ Netball, Touchies, Dodgeball, Color run and Fishing! We’re adding Tug-of-War, Weightlifting, a Rubex Cube Championship, Darts, Line Dancing AND a Mystery Basket Super Chef challenge! The 2024 George TENS will not only feature top notch sporting activities, but the Festival Village will be rocking. This year, local and emerging artists are invited to showcase their talents on the Festival Stage.
(2nd) Gravel Burn

2025 information - Gravel Burn is a 7-day, 850km full-service gravel stage race through South Africa’s diverse landscapes. Starting in coastal forests, the route heads into the breathtaking Great Karoo - a famously vast, semi-desert region. Riders rest each night in remote camps under star-filled skies and, on the final day, greeted by Africa’s iconic Big 5 wildlife.
