We’re inviting surfers of all levels, riding all crafts to float, surf or rip! You’ll be surfing in teams (make your own or we’ll put you in one) to the judging criteria of “most impressive surfing wins” - you can be impressive by having a party wave with your whole team on a giant inflatable SUP, getting barreled, doing a cockroach in the barrel or doing an air reverse. The point is to come hang on the beach, have a laugh and have a surf.

This route offers the perfect opportunity for gravel-bikers to take on the 29ers. E-bikers are also welcome on this non-technical route. 7Passes MTB also offers a shorter route for younger or not so fit riders who still want to be part of the action! Leeuwenbosch Dairies will once again support the 38km event which starts from the Highlands Cash Store in the humble little village of Karatara.

(1st) GOCS eSCape Tour and Rally
GeorgeSunday 9th - Wednesday 12th February 2025
This will be an ambitious four-day event, open to all cars registered for the George Old Car Show. The rally will be run to regulations as laid down by the South African Vintage and Veteran Association (SAVVA) and Motorsport South Africa (MSA). Competitors will be required to nominate the average speeds for their cars over the timed sections of the rally, ranging from 65 to 95 km/h, according to the age of their vehicles. Veteran cars are those built before 1918, vintage cars are built up until 1930, and the classic cars eligible for the rally are to have been built before 31st of December, 1975. The Tour which runs alongside the rally each day is non-competitive, for those owners simply wishing to enjoy their cars in the company of other enthusiasts, in compelling scenery over interesting roads.

2024 information - A wheelchair race exclusively for disabled athletes! And - every year it is getting bigger and better! The number of entries has increased dramatically, with disabled athletes and other persons in wheelchairs flocking to this annual event. The Challenge is unique as being the first and only event exclusively for the disabled in South Africa. Athletes in racing wheelchairs, adapted bicycles, hand cycles, basketball chairs and ordinary wheelchairs have made this into the premier sporting event for the disabled on the South African sporting calendar. It undoubtedly has the potential to develop into one of the best events of its kind in the world!
Plett Bubbly Series

The motivation for this series is to encourage ALL riders from various disciplines to give Dressage a go, and have some fun doing so! There will be Graded, Recreational and Musical Freestyle classes. This competition is based on a simple points system, whereby each horse/rider combination is awarded points for meeting various criteria. There will be a separate points system for Recreational riders, but they will still stand a chance to win their own “grand prize” at the end of the series.

This fast and flat marathon is a great qualifier for Two Oceans and Comrades. The scenic route takes you out along the lagoon to Leisure Isle, and then back out to the Phantom Pass Road, and finishes at Thesen Island. Many a PB has been done on this route. There are options for a 42.2km full marathon, the 21.1km half-marathon, a 10km, and also a 5km fun run.

National RC Gliding Champonships

Competitors fly in rounds. Each round has a different task associated with it, and each has a flight task and a landing task. Most flight tasks are based on some form of precision flight time (seven minutes, plus or minus, from the time of winch line disconnect to contact with the ground). The closer the landing is made to the target time, the more points are awarded. Landing targets an exact spot; the closer to the spot, the more points gained. Typically, 10 sailplanes will launch at the same time.

The Mountain Ultra Trail or MUT by UTMB is a festival of trail running. The Outeniqua Mountains rise from the urban edge and provide a spectacular adventure seeker’s playground, with hundreds of kilometers of hiking trails criss-crossing the peaks, which reach up to 1,578 meters above sea level, and verdant valleys. Fynbos, one of the world’s most biodiverse floral kingdoms, and old growth indigenous forests line the trails, while the high points along the MUT by UTMB route provide breath-taking views over the Indian Ocean to the south and across the arid Karoo to the north.

The CA2CX is a mountain biking tour that every keen cyclist should experience. This isn't a faced-paced race but a fun tour that takes you through the picturesque landscape of our beautiful province each year in June. The daily route, of about 100km per day is, consists of farmlands, spectacular landscapes and amazing views. Riders can enter one of the following groups: 14 - 18kph, 18 - 22kph or 22kph and up. Accommodation throughout the race will be at 3 - 5 star guesthouses and hotels.

Taking runners through the forests made famous by Daleen Mathee (the late authoress of Circles in the forest, Fiela’s child, Moerbeibos and others). The 15km and 27km routes have been chosen not only to challenge the intermediate to experienced trail runners but to provide them with an opportunity to experience the deepest secrets at the heart of the Garden Route National park. Single track and terrain to excite trail runners of all ability including an easier route for the beginner trail runner of 9km.

The Lions Karoo to Coast welcomes MTB, Gravel and E-Bikes! The Lions Karoo to Coast Mountain Bike Race has been selected as an Official Premier Seeding Event of the 2025 Cape Town Cycle Tour.

This expedition has led us to unveil our best route yet - 2025 promises a challenging, diverse, scenic, and ultimately rewarding experience along the Karoo and Garden Route.

2024 information - Firefighters from all over the country will compete against one another. The South African challenge is unique in that it truly tests firefighters' resolve. Our competition is the biggest in Africa and in fact, on par with the international contest. There will also be a mini Toughest Firefighter Alive challenge, for children aged three to 12 years of age. The junior challenge is not a competition, but allows children to participate in fun activities while experiencing some of the real thrills and adrenaline of being a real firefighter. There will be industry-related activities and exhibitions.

The Oyster Catcher stage trail run follows the famous Oyster Catcher hiking route, from the Gouritz River Mouth to Mossel Bay via the St Blaize hiking route along the Southern Cape coastline in the Garden Route. The Oystercatcher trail is a world acclaimed experience. The Oyster Catcher trail run is primarily designed for trail runners looking to complete their first multi-day stage race. The distances covered are manageable and the terrain is made up mainly of single track (hiking trails) and beach running, with some technical areas to add variety.

This is a brand new event, and was planned to included a 21km on Montagu Pass, but due to the recent floods, the pass is not safe lower down, to get the distance for the 21km. We have decided to continue with the event, but only have a 5km and a 10km run, followed by tons of fun for the whole family!
