Registration and the focal point of the 5-day competition will be centred on the seaside town of Plettenberg Bay. Each day of competition takes place on a new map, with a rest day on 1 January. M/W21E (Elite) category has World Ranking Events for Day 2 (middle distance) and Day 5 (sprint), with single-day entry possible on these days. Various social evenings will be included in the event programme and feature a range of entertainment and activities.

The Junior Swim is for 10 year old’s and younger and only the first 3 girls and the first 3 boys will receive medals. Parents and other age groups may also take part but will not be eligible for medals.

This route offers the perfect opportunity for gravel-bikers to take on the 29ers. E-bikers are also welcome on this non-technical route. 7Passes MTB also offers a shorter route for younger or not so fit riders who still want to be part of the action! Leeuwenbosch Dairies will once again support the 38km event which starts from the Highlands Cash Store in the humble little village of Karatara.

The 2024 edition is taking on a slightly different format to the previous 10 years of the event where our riders will be starting their journey from Kurland in the Crags and ending in J-Bay. After plenty feedback from our riders over the years regarding the stages of the journey they enjoyed the most we’ve decided to spend the first 2 stages of the 2024 edition exploring the Tsitsikamma Forest. This means our riders will enjoy the comfort of the same race village for 2 nights in a row at Storms River before moving onto the 3rd at Assegaaibosch. Whether you’re a dedicated racer or a relaxed rider this is a spectacular journey you shouldn’t miss.

A wheelchair race exclusively for disabled athletes! And - every year it is getting bigger and better! The number of entries has increased dramatically, with disabled athletes and other persons in wheelchairs flocking to this annual event. The Challenge is unique as being the first and only event exclusively for the disabled in South Africa. Athletes in racing wheelchairs, adapted bicycles, hand cycles, basketball chairs and ordinary wheelchairs have made this into the premier sporting event for the disabled on the South African sporting calendar. It undoubtedly has the potential to develop into one of the best events of its kind in the world!

(8th) Knysna Heads Marathon

This fast and flat marathon is a great qualifier for Two Oceans and Comrades. The scenic route takes you out along the lagoon to Leisure Isle, and then back out to the Phantom Pass Road, and finishes at Thesen Island. Many a PB has been done on this route. There are options for a 42.2km full marathon or the 21.1km half-marathon.

It is anticipated that around 1200 players from across South Africa will be entering the tournament. The format of the games will ensure that competitors will rotate between clubs, which will ensure that no team will be unfairly advantaged by playing at a single venue and to allow for the challenge of playing in different conditions. There is no doubt, that if you are a bowling enthusiast, then this tournament will be well worth following.

Swartberg 100 Gran Fondo

The CA2CX is a mountain biking tour that every keen cyclist should experience. In conjunction with the MTO Trails Ultra we will run a circular 23 +/- km loop from Covie. The route will include The Covie Trails, The Tsitsikamma Hiking Trail as well as MTO Plantations. Once again we have decided to include a 12/10 km and 5km fun run for those who want to be part of the whole event but haven’t quite got fit enough for the Ultra or the Lite.

The Lions Karoo to Coast route covers 100 kilometres, from Uniondale to Knysna, taking on the scenic Prince Alfred Pass and the beautiful indigenous forest roads through Kom se Pad. In total the course includes 1 560 metres of climbing. This makes it a significant test. More importantly though, it is the type of race that participants do again and again. Though the start is not particularly remote and the finish is in the heart of the Garden Route, the course itself is relatively remote. The race thus provides an excellent opportunity to ride a famous pass which one would otherwise never explore and celebrate in the heritage of the region.

This event is all about not sinking. Or at least sinking with dignity. Each entered team has to bring materials to build their craft on site. These crafts can be made of ANYTHING except ANYTHING that might be deemed as real boat parts, or surfboards, paddle skis etc. The craft is presented by the team to a select panel of (non)experts who judge according to the originality of the design and the charisma of the team. Then, after being launched onto the lagoon, the craftily crafted crafts are put to the test against one another in an exciting series of heats. There will also be coffee, food and other refreshments on sail (whoops!) as well – so spectators/naysayers are more than welcome to come and watch.

2023 information - Tsitsikamma and its abundance of great mountain biking through the MTO forests, SANParks wilderness and numerous private farms will position the Red Cherry Forest Boogie as one single-stage race not to miss. 2023 will see the inclusion of 3 Trail Run routes, namely Bronze (5km), Silver (13km) and Gold 21km. With 4 routes from 10km to 60km the Boogie will appeal to the whole family and E-Bikes are very welcome.

Thereafter enjoy kilometers of mixed sand and rock shelves with the warm Benguela current on your left and the fossilised sandstone dunes towering above you on your right. Passing Kleinkranz village (the 7km Runners starting point) and a mid-run refreshment stop, runners then reach Flat Rock and a few more kilometers of sand running to the finish at Wilderness NSRI.

The S2T ‘Sea2Tower’ is the ‘Up-Run’ route of the TOWER2SEA. The S2T starts in the heart of Knysna and finishes at the top of the Knysna Forest. With 4 routes to choose from, the S2T offers a variety of distances that cater for most fitness levels. It is a very challenging yet beautiful route with epic views where runners will start off at sea level, wind their way up through the Knysna forest, before climbing a 6m steel ladder into the Forest Tower itself. Finishers will be greeted with spectacular views over the surrounding forest, mountains and valleys.
